Jigger has started training in obedience with Diane and he is proving to be a wonderful working dog!! We have great hopes for his performance career.
UPDATE May 2017: Jigger and I had a blast entering the first "Cut Down" class offered at the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America's National Specialty. Having never set foot in the conformation ring, I was thrilled with his performance under esteemed United Kingdom judge Tricia Bentley of Canigou English Cocker Spaniels, a Crufts Best in Show winner!! The rules set out for this competition were that all entries must be AKC registered and their coat cut down to no longer than 1 1/2" everywhere. You can definitely see the dog's true conformation with no coat covering up the flaws. We were so proud of Jigger taking home Reserve Best Male.
